The Boston Celtics conclude their five-game homestand on Thursday with their third of four matchups against the Detroit Pistons this season. The Celtics will attempt to improve to 3-0 in their season series after securing a 124-118 road victory on Oct. 26 and a 130-120 home win on Dec. 4.

Boston (19-5) is coming off a 127-121 home loss to the Memphis Grizzlies (17-8) on Saturday. Meanwhile, Detroit (10-15) seeks to build on Saturday's 120-111 upset road victory over the New York Knicks (15-10). Thursday's contest marks the team's final outing of its three-game road trip.

The defending champion Celtics again rank among the NBA's preeminent teams, sitting tied for the second-best overall record behind the Cleveland Cavaliers (21-4). The Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown-led squad boasts the league's No. 3-ranked offensive rating (120.2).

Conversely, the rebuilding Pistons are positioned just outside of the Eastern Conference's play-in picture (11th). However, spearheaded by rising star guard Cade Cunningham, they have been a feisty opponent for competitive teams.
