The New York Knicks will follow up their statement win against the Milwaukee Bucks with a tricky matchup against a red-hot Detroit Pistons team. Monday's matchup pits the No. 3 team versus the No. 8 teams in the Eastern Conference. With plenty of star talent on display, this should be an entertaining game for fans at at Madison Square Garden.

The Pistons have been outstanding over the last month, winning 10 of their last 13 games since Dec. 13. J.B. Bickerstaff has the offense clicking, while former No. 1 pick Cade Cunningham is developing into one of the league's most complete players under the newly appointed coach.

The addition of Karl-Anthony Towns this offseason to an already loaded Knicks roster places New York firmly in contention for the East. The Dominican-American big man has combined well with guard Jalen Brunson, with both players having All-Star calibre seasons.

The decision to replace Monty Williams with J.B. Bickerstaff this offseason seems to have paid off for a Detroit Pistons franchise that has struggled over the last five seasons.

Bickerstaff has remained loyal to his starting five, which has been a big reason for Detroit's early season success. Five players in the roster have had 30 or more starts, with Tobias Harris leading the way with 37.

A midseason injury to guard Jaden Ivey has been a setback for the team. Ivey is set to miss a significant portion of the campaign after undergoing surgery on a broken fibula in his left leg. Bickerstaff has opted to go with Malik Beasley or Ausar Thompson as a replacement in his starting group.

Aside from Ivey, Detroit has no major injury concerns, though. The Pistons will likely come out with a starting five of Cade Cunningham, Tim Hardaway Jr., Ausar Thompson, Tobias Harris, Jalen Duren.

Like his counterpart in Detroit, New York Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau has been consistent and rigid with his starters. Only eight New York players have received starts this season, and five of them have 36 or more starts. Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby lead the way with 39 starts followed by Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart with 38.

Center Mitchell Robinson remains sidelined due to a an ankle issue. The 7-footer hasn't played this season but is expected to return to practice in January. Forward Kevin McCuller Jr. will also miss Monday's game due to a knee injury. Brunson is a listed as a game-time decision after leaving the Bucks game in the fourth quarter.

Expect the Knicks to go with a starting lineup of Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby and Karl-Anthony Towns.
