Washington, Feb 25 (IANS) Veteran Dirk Nowitzki bagged 15 points, including a beater-buzzer in the final minute, to lift the Dallas Mavericks over the New York Knicks 110-108 in the NBA.
The Mavs led by eight points with 90 seconds left only to see the Knicks tie the score 108-108 after Carmelo Anthony hit a three-pointer Monday. Nowitzki stepped up with 10 seconds left, knocking down a 19-foot jump shot to help the Mavs win, reports Xinhua.
Vince Carter had 23 points for the Mavs while Monta Ellis made 22 points. Point guard Jose Calderon finished with 20 points and six assists.
Anthony hit 44 points for the Knicks, making himself average as many as 41.3 points in the last four games. However, the Knicks only managed to win one out of the four.
Tyson Chandler had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks. J.R. Smith and Tim Hardaway Jr. contributed 15 and 10 points respectively from the bench.
