The Dallas Maveriks have won the NBA Championship with an 105:95 victory against the Miami Heat in Game 6 of the 2010/11 season’s finals. German superstar Dirk Nowitzki and his Maveriks clinched the crucial 4th win in the best-of-seven series to win their first-ever NBA Championship title prior to the final game on Tuesday.
The Mavericks had a difficult start in the away game at the American Airlines Arena with the Miami Heat taking the lead and looking on fire. But the Mavs rallied quickly and turned the score line into their favour within the first quarter.

Nowitzki had a poor game in the first two quarters with only one of his twelve attempts finding the target. But his teammates were able to hold on to the pressure in the closely contested game and made their points.

Dallas went into the half-time break with a narrow 53:51 lead.
Miami tried hard to score a few big points in the third period, but Dallas had always a proper reply in their pockets. The Mavs increased their lead to a nine points margin at the end of the third period.
Jason Terry had an outstanding match for the Mavs and scored a few points in the fourth quarter to keep his side in front, while “German Wunderkind” Nowitzki scored also a few big points in the dying minutes of the game.
Miami Heat had no chance to challenge the Mavs in the final period, as the visitors played a focused game and never lost their concentration.
Dallas won the championship and a dream has come true for the Mavs, Dirk Nowitzki and basketball fans in Germany!
