This extension begins with the 2025/26 season, with two more seasons in - 2026/27 and 2027/28. However, the 2027/28 NBA season is a player option for Donovan Mitchell.

How much is Donovan Mitchell’s contract with the Cavs?

Donovan Mitchell is currently in his five-year rookie max extended contract worth $163 million. A major term of the contract was that it had a Player Option for the 2025/26 season worth $37,096,620. Mitchell decided to decline this player option in favor of signing a new deal with Cleveland.

On July 7, 2024, Donovan Mitchell signed a new three-year, $150.32 contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
