Donovan Mitchell, also known as “Spida,” is a shooting guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA as of March 2025. He was drafted by the Denver Nuggets 13th overall in the first round of the 2017 Draft. However, he was soon traded to the Utah Jazz for Tyler Lydon and Trey Lyles. In his rookie season, After averaging 20.5 points per game in his rookie season, Mitchell earned a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Mitchell is a five-time All-Star who can score at all three levels. In 2022, Mitchell was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he helped the team advance to the playoffs for the first time in five seasons. Unfortunately for the team, they lost to the New York Knicks in the first round in five games. In his first season with the Cavs, Mitchell averaged 28.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game. He shot 48.4% from the field, including 38.6% from deep.

In the 2022/23 season, Donovan Mitchell scored a career and franchise-high 71 points against the Chicago Bulls. Mitchell made 22 field goals on the day, including seven of 15 from deep. With this, he became the seventh player in NBA history to score 70 or more points in a game. In the season 2023-24, again, Mitchell led the team to another playoff, but the team lost in the Conference Semifinals to the NBA Champions (Boston Celtics). However, in the season 2024-25, the Cleveland Cavaliers, led by Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland, have already won 51 games in the regular season with an 11-game winning streak. In the season, Mitchell is averaging 24.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.
