Draymond Green is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors. Along with Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry, Green forms the Big 3 of the Golden State Warriors dynasty, winning 4 championships with the same core team. The 35-year-old Green has carved out a name for himself as a power forward in the NBA, being named to 4 All-Star games, two All-NBA teams, and also being a two-time Olympic Gold medalist with the USA basketball team.

Green is especially known for his ability as a defensive powerhouse, being the runner-up for the Defensive Player of the Year award three times and winning the award once in his career. He has often been criticized for his dirty play after having caused injury to some players in the NBA. Green is one of the most recognized NBA players today and has plenty left in his tank to expand his legacy through the work he does on and off the court.

With his tenacity, it comes as no surprise that Draymond Green suffers from injuries. Green has faced a multitude of injuries, which have caused him to miss games in his career. These injuries are a mix of minor and serious injuries at different parts of the body, such as fingers, ankles, hip, and knee.

Minor Injuries

Draymond Green has had predominantly small injuries, which caused him to miss some games. In the 2023 off-season, the Warriors' star sprained his ankle, causing him to miss a multitude of preseason games at the start of the season. In December 2024, Green suffered a minor left calf tightness, which caused him to miss a few games with the Golden State. Green suffered another Mild Calf strain in January 2025 that caused him to miss the NBA action for about a week.

Major Injuries

Index Finger Injury (2020)

Draymond Green suffered a major torn ligament in his index finger that caused him to miss several games in 2020.

Back Problem (2022)

Green missed two months due to a back problem in early 2022. This was a back injury in the 2021-22 season. As the Warriors star said in an interview, Green’s L5 and S1 disks were herniated, causing them to bulge and hit a nerve called the sciatic nerve. Green had to use special cushions to do the simplest of tasks during this time period. The back injury was also connected to Green’s lower body, making it hard for him to complete a single calf raise. However, Green battled through the injury and ultimately returned in March just ahead of the playoffs to help the Warriors annihilate the Boston Celtics and claim his fourth championship.
