With only two seasons in the NBA, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Evan Mobley is one of the finest young players in the game. Growing up alongside his brother and future Cavaliers’ teammate Isaiah, Mobley seemed reluctant to play basketball. But when he realized that his height was something he had no control over, he adapted to the sport and quickly got better at it.
Before Mobley began to dominate the competition at Rancho Christian School, he struggled to score in double digits but showed his skills on the defensive end. In his junior season, Mobley averaged a deserving 19.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.7 blocks per game which culminated in him receiving the Gatorade Player of the Year award.
In his senior season, Mobley put up nearly twenty-one points, 12.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and an unreal 5.2 blocks a game. To the shock of very few, Mobley again earned the Gatorade POY award, becoming one of only two players to achieve this feat.
In August 2019, Mobley announced his commitment to the University of South Carolina (USC) and played just one season before being selected third overall in the 2021 NBA draft.
Evan Mobley Height
Evan Mobley is 6 feet 11 inches tall. He plays as a power forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is great at collecting contested rebounds, playing near the rim on both ends of the court, and shot-blocking. During his time at USC, Mobley garnered praise for having an imposing presence in the paint as most scorers found it highly difficult to get past his defense and finish at the rim.
Evan Mobley Weight
Evan Mobley weighs approximately 215 lbs (as per the 2021 draft combine). Mobley is not bulky and neither ridiculously built. He maintains a simple, athletic frame and relies more on the knowledge and techniques of his game while playing both ends of the court. On defense, Mobley has this ability where he can easily absorb offensive scoring advances and block those attempts based on precise anticipation.
Evan Mobley Wingspan
Evan Mobley has a wingspan of 7 feet 4 inches. Mobley has become an almost irreplaceable part of Cleveland’s defense alongside Jarred Allen. Power forwards and Centers are ideal requirements for all teams if they wish to maintain defensive consistency and Mobley’s presence has provided that. Besides using his long arms to reject scoring attempts and collect rebounds, Mobley uses his long reach to disrupt passes and create separation when looking to score the ball.
