Evan Mobley is an American basketball player playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA. Born on June 18, 2001, in Murrieta, California. Mobley was picked third overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2021 NBA Draft. Mobley came to prominence in the basketball world, when he represented Rancho Christian School in Temecula, California. He averaged 19.2 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.7 blocks per game to win some prestigious awards like the California Gatorade Player of the Year and The Press-Enterprise Player of the Year. In his senior season, Mobley performed even better, winning the prestigious Morgan Wootten National Player of the Year.

At an imposing height of 7 feet, Mobley possesses a unique blend of size, athleticism, and basketball intelligence. He has the unique ability to guard all five positions with terrific lateral quickness and his shot-blocking abilities make it tough for anyone to score easy buckets in his paint. In his second NBA season in 2022-23, Mobley averaged 16.2 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game. His outstanding contributions played a crucial role as the Cleveland Cavaliers secured the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Evan Mobley has one older sibling Isaiah Mobley. Before Evan, it was Isaiah who played basketball for the Rancho Christian School in Temecula, California. He played as a power forward in high school and starred for the team. They were known as the "Mobley Twin Towers" because of their heights and skills. Both of them were five-star players in high school. In 2019, Isaiah Mobley took his talents to USC, and the very next year, his brother joined him there. Evan was ‘one & done’, and left for the NBA to be drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He quickly made his mark and earned a spot on the All-Rookie Team.

Isaiah Mobley decided to stay in college for the 2021-22 season. After three seasons, he declared for the NBA draft. The Cavs picked Isaiah Mobley in the second round with the 49th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Evan Mobley College Career

Evan Mobley played one season for the USC Trojans. He was always seen as the one-and-done prospect when he donned the Trojans jersey in the 2020-21 season. During his first and only year at USC, he averaged 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.9 blocks, and 2.4 assists per game. He received several awards in the Pac-12, including Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Freshman of the Year. He became only the second player from a major conference to win all three of these awards, following Anthony Davis in 2012.
