FIBA U18 3x3 World Championship: Argentina and USA win titles

Champions

Argentina and USA won the men’s and women’s title respectively at the FIBA U18 3×3 World Championship held at Jakarta, Indonesia.

Argentina claimed gold in the men’s category defeating France 13-7 while Russia won bronze beating Lithuania 19-16. Earlier, Argentina had defeated Lithuania and France had defeated Russia in the semifinals.

In the women’s category, USA defeated Estonia 21-16 to claim gold while Spain defeated Italy 14-7 to claim bronze medal. In the semifinal, USA defeated Spain and Estonia defeated Italy to reach the final of the championship.

32 men’s and 24 women’s teams participated in the third edition of the FIBA U18 3×3 world championship. Besides the men’s and women’s tournament, the Skills contest (women), the Dunk contest (men), the Shoot-Out contest (mixed) & the 2-Ball contest (mixed) were held.

Skills Contest

  • Bronze – Mayara Marins (Brazil)
  • Bronze – Destiny Castro (Guam)

Free Throw Contest

  • Gold – János Mike (Hungary)
  • Silver – Gerard Gomila (Spain)
  • Bronze – Dimitris Rasty (Romania)

The championship was held from 26 to 29 September 2013 at Jakarta, Indonesia.
