Even though there is around one month remaining until the 2023 FIBA World Cup, France is totally ready with its 12-man roster to compete in the championship. The head coach of the France men’s national basketball team has already announced the list of the players that will represent France in the World Cup and will compete for the Naismith Trophy. Vincent Collet, head coach of France's basketball team announced this news in a mini show on the French TV3 channel.

The France men’s national basketball team has been playing in FIBA since its joining in 1933. This team represents France in international basketball championships. Till now, it has appeared in many basketball championships including Eurobasket and Summer Olympics. In addition to this, France has participated eight times in FIBA World Cup and gained bronze medals in 2014 and 2019. After finishing third inside the 2019 FIBA World Cup, France is again coming with its 12-man roster to play in the 2023 FIBA World Cup that will start on August 25.

France World Cup Schedule

This year, France will play in Group H within the FIBA World Cup. Along with France, Group H consists teams from Canada, Latvia and Lebanon that will compete within the 2023 FIBA World Cup. The games of this group will start on August 26 in the first round. Thereafter, the winner and runner-up will strengthen to the second round, where they may face the Group G winner and runner-up. The second round of this group will begin on September 1 and the venue for this round will be Indonesia Arena, Jakarta.
