About the German National Basketball Team

Team Germany has been a Basketball nation for quite some time, but initially struggled to establish themselves as a legitimate contender, having played only six world cups since the tournament’s start in 1950. Their most recent world cup performance in 2019 left fans desiring more as the potential within the team was exponential.

However, the present German team is determined to improve its Basketball history. Having clinched the Bronze medal at the 2022 EuroBasket gave the German players a newfound opportunity to be more focused towards their nation.

Team Germany has carefully selected a squad that combines experience with young athletic talent and skill with athleticism. Led by head coach Gordon Herbert, the following is the entire list of players who will be representing Team Germany

At the point guard position, Dennis Schröder brings his dynamic playmaking abilities and scoring prowess. Known for his lightning-quick speed and ability to break down defenses with ease, Schröder will be instrumental in setting up plays and creating opportunities for his teammates.

Joining him in the backcourt are Center Daniel Theis and Power forward Maximilian Kleber. Daniel and Max are defensive players who can guard multiple positions and contribute offensively through their mid-range shooting skills and solid post game. Their defensive presence adds a necessary touch to Team Germany's game plan.

Johannes Voigtmann and Isaac Bonga. Voigtmann is a tall center who commands excellent shooting accuracy. Averaging 8.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in Europe, he maintains a career average of 51% shooting from the field. Isaac is a 6’8 tall point guard who can shoot, play inside the three-point line and score at will while also being an effective rebounder.

Point guard Maodo Lo is the sixth man who is quick with his handles and ball control, giving him the leverage of being an effective steal expert and a decent scorer.

Rounding out Team Germany's roster are Franz Wagner as Small forward, Moritz Wagner as backup Center, and Johannes Thiemann as backup forward. These players provide valuable depth and ensure that the team's performance remains consistent throughout the tournament.
