Tuesday morning saw the world being shaken by the terrorist attacks in the Belgium capital of Brussels with latest reports of at least 34 killed and several other injured only increasing the pain of the families affected by this incident.
Among the ones who suffered severe injuries was also a professional basketball player Sebastien Bellin who was also formerly part of the Marist College team. The 37-year-old suffered injuries on his right hip and leg in the bombings.
Bellin also underwent his first surgery after the blast at the airport that sent him 65 feet high up in the air. He presently represents the Gent Hawks in the Belgium professional League.
Bellin represented the Marist College team from 1996 to 1998 and played 46 matches for the Red Foxes spread over two seasons and then later was transferred to the Oakland University in Michigan, where he played for two more seasons between 1998 and 2000 . His coach at the time, Greg Kampe tweeted, asking everybody to pray for his former ward.
