Franz Wagner’s recent season with the Orlando Magic can be summed up in one word; splendid. He has been putting in the hard work since draft night and it seems that he is determined to grow and become one of Germany's next big stars in the NBA. Wagner's passion for the game ignited at a young age. Standing 6 feet and 7 inches tall with exceptional athleticism and versatility on both ends of the court, he had the right frame and dedication for the craft.

Wagner began his career playing for Alba Berlin and got his introduction to top-level professional at age 16.

In July 2019, Franz decided to go overseas to the United States and play Collegiate Basketball for the University of Michigan, the same university his brother Moritz Wagner played for a few years back. Making a bold move across the Atlantic to join the University of Michigan Wolverines gave him the chance to test his knowledge and skills of the game at his pace.
