Gabe Vincent took an unconventional path to reaching the NBA. After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA Draft out of UC Santa Barbara, Vincent got an exhibit 10 contract before finally getting his chance in the NBA with the Miami Heat in 2020.

The next season, Vincent earned a standard NBA contract with Miami. He began earning regular rotation minutes and contributing as a backup point guard. In his second NBA season, Vincent played in 50 games, and averaged 4.8 points and 1.3 assists in 13.1 minutes per game.

Vincent continued his development in the 2021-22 season under coach Erik Spoelstra. He played key backup minutes as the Heat finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference. He appeared in 68 games, averaging 8.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, on 41.4% shooting.

The 2022/23 season represented a breakout season for 26-year-old Vincent. He set new career highs across the board, averaging 9.4 points, 2.5 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game for the Heat. He shot 40.2% from the field, including 33.4% from 3-point range. He also started 34 games while starting point guard Kyle Lowry was injured.

After four seasons in Miami, Vincent signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2023 offseason.
