Well, so much for Sarah Palin running for president. I know that she never had a realistic chance anyway, but this story won’t her already damaged public image. Author Joe McGinniss has a book about Sarah Palin coming out calledThe Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin. The National Esquire leaked what will unquestionably be the best part of the book for me. It says that Palin once had a one night stand with Michigan hoops star Glen Rice in ’87.

“Sarah hooked up with the NBA great, then a 6-foot-8 junior at the University of Michigan when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in Alaska in 1987, the book says. At the time, Sarah, just out of college, was working as a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU.

A publishing source told The ENQUIRER that McGinniss claims Sarah had a “fetish” for black men at the time and he quotes a friend as saying Sarah had “hauled (Rice’s) ass down.”
Haul that ass down, Palin. Holy shit is this story hilarious. Palin married her husband 9 months later, and was definitely in the picture at the time Rice threw her a shot. You know what this was? This was Palin’s last fling before she got tied down. You see fellas, we’re not alone in being terrified of having one vagina for the rest of eternity. It goes both ways.
Big ups to Deadspin for this story and yes, I absolutely believe it. What’s not to believe? I also don’t loathe Palin anymore than I already did. Do what you do, girl. Plus, Rice confirmed the story. Now I have a reason to tune in whenever Palin talks again. She has always been an automatic channel changer, but not anymore. At least until she comments on this. As for Rice, he helped lead Michigan to the ’89 NCAA title, and was an all-star at the NBA level. He also beat the shit out of a guy who was having an affair with his wife, Christina Rice.
The lesson, as always: It’s a full time job to not cheat on your significant other.
