Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets preview

The Warriors’ 4-1 start has surprised many, especially after moving on from Klay Thompson in the offseason. New additions, particularly Buddy Hield, who leads the team with 21.2 points per game, have been crucial to their success.

Even without Curry during this winning streak, the Warriors have spread the offense around, with five players averaging in double figures. They rank seventh in 3-point shooting at 39.1% and fourth in offensive rating at 118.6. Even more impressively, their defense ranks second with a 98.4 rating.

Meanwhile, the Rockets are still developing their identity. However, their recent two-game winning streak, especially their gritty win against Dallas, could signal an upward trend.

They currently hold the fifth-best defensive rating at 108.4 and are tenth in offense at 114.0, though their play hasn’t always been smooth. Jalen Green has shone brightly, averaging 27.6 points per game.

Alperen Sengun, Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks are still finding their rhythm, with the team shooting only 38.8% from the field but showing resilience on the court.
