The Golden State Warriors host the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday (October 24) in their NBA 2023-24 season opener.
With both teams gunning for a championship, their summers were spent making massive changes. Now, they square off against each other with Chris Paul playing against his former team.
The Suns finished 45-37 last season but were ousted by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Warriors met the same fate against the LA Lakers.
Now, both teams head into this contest after ringing major moves. Phoenix traded Chris Paul to the Washington Wizards as part of a package deal for Bradley Beal.

The Warriors, meanwhile, acquired the seasoned point guard soon after by shipping Jordan Poole to the Wizards.
While one team was all about bolstering its firepower, the other is now reliant on its core of veterans to win another title.

Golden State Warriors vs Phoenix Suns game preview and injury report
Injuries, inconsistency and off-court drama in the form of a dust-up between Jordan Poole and Draymond Green derailed the Golden State Warriors chances of defending their title last season.
They finished sixth in the West and edged the Sacramento Kings in a hard-fought Game 7 before the Lakers sent them packing.
They also lost some reliable role players in the summer. Donte DiVincenzo (free agency, Knicks) and Ty Jerome (free agency, Cleveland) signed with new teams.
Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins were sent to the Wizards along with Poole. Andre Iguodala retired last Friday, which leaves the Warriors in dire need of depth.
The Suns, meanwhile, have wasted no time in beefing their lineup with bonafide superstars to make them a legitimate title contender. Apart from acquiring Beal, they also shipped Deandre Ayton for role players in Grayson Allen and Jusuf Nurkic.
They also roped in Udoka Azubuike (Utah Jazz), Eric Gordon (LA Clippers), Keita Bates-Diop (San Antonio Spurs), Drew Eubanks (Portland Trail Blazers), Chimeze Metu (Sacramento Kings), Yuta Watanabe (Brooklyn Nets) and Bol Bol (Orlando Magic) through free agency.
Add Frank Vogel who replaced Monty Williams as coach, and Phoenix looks primed for a deep run.

The Warriors will be favorites to win this clash at home. The Suns will have to figure out how their offense runs between Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.
Golden State's preseason showed how they look to incorporate Paul with the starters, and playing at home comes with a certain advantage. Expect this contest to go the Dubs way.
