Gradey Dick is currently plays for the Toronto Raptors of the NBA and was drafted in the 2023 NBA draft with the 13th overall pick. He has just played 14 games so far in the NBA. He was arguably the best shooter in the 2023 draft class and can also grab boards because of his length.

Dick played for the Kansas Jayhawks during his college days, where he averaged 14.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on 44.2 percent shooting from the field and 40.3 percent from beyond the arc. He scored his college career-high, 28 points, in a game against Oklahoma State.

He is a versatile guard who can score in many different ways. While his three point scoring stands out, Dick is a great cutter, he has a floater game, and can play above the rim. Dick is not a high flyer but can finish around the rim beautifully when needed. He can be compared to Reggie Miller or Kevin Huerter because of his quick shooting stroke and off-balance shot making. Even if defenders are all over him, Dick still finds a way to knock down shots.

Dick also represented the United States in 3v3 FIBA Under-18 World Cup and notched a gold medal averaging 3.2 points.He was a five-star recruit who played for the Sunrise Christian Academy during his high school days.

He fits the job description when it comes to his size. At 6 feet 7 inches, he plays the shooting guard position, which is taller than most others playing the same position in the league. His length could also make him a two-way player in the future, if he develops his defensive skills.

Dick was drafted as the 13th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NBA draft. He ranked high in the draft class particularly because of his shooting. Dick was a lights-out shooter from deep while playing for Kansas and the Raptors needed a floor-spacer who could catch-and-shoot, when needed.

In his first 14 games with the Raptors, Dick has averaged 4.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists on 27.0 percent from the field and 24.4 percent from the three-point line. So far, his college success has not translated into the NBA but he is just a rookie and will definitely grow with time.

Dick’s ceiling as a player is very high as he has great length, fluidic movement, and is a confident shooter who is not afraid to let it fly. Against the Philadelphia 76ers, Dick scored his season best 16 points while shooting 4/6 from the three point line. The Raptors have a great core led by Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam and are currently fighting an uphill battle as they stand 10th in the Eastern Conference.
