Haryana Gold beat the Mumbai Challengers 78-69 in Game 7 of the UBA Championship at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday.
The opening quarter began with the Gold scoring a three-pointer, after which they continued to put pressure on the Challengers. Haryana scored a total of 21 points compared to their opponent's 13, with most of them being from the three-pointer line.
The second quarter saw a similar tale unfold as Haryana put up an even better show on the front line, particularly Vikas, who netted in 3 consecutive three-pointers. The Gold took full advantage of the defensive frailties of the Challengers to finish the quarter with a 15-point lead at 42-27.
The third quarter proved to be a much better one for the Challengers as they, led by a spirited effort from Karan, applied some pressure back on the Gold. They reduced the margin significantly and finished the quarter with a 4-point deficit at 56-52.
The fourth and final quarter saw a keen tussle between both teams, but multiple fouls from the Challengers didn't help their cause and that in the end led to their downfall.
Final Scoreline: Haryana Gold 78 beat Mumbai Challengers 69.
