Terrence declared for the 2021 NBA draft on April 8, 2021. He continued to play at Texas Tech after entering the NBA draft.

On November 7, the team temporarily sidelined Terrence due to an eligibility review. He continued playing basketball on November 17 after missing three games of the regular season. During his junior year, Terrence averaged 10.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 0.8 steals per game. On April 29, 2022, Terrence became Illinois Fighting Illini men’s basketball team member after entering the transfer portal.
