Over the course of his career, Michael Jordan has done countless great things on and off the basketball court. As the NBA icon gets ready to turn 60, he has made history once again.

Aside from being one of the greatest players ever, he is also an extremely successful businessman. With a net worth of close to $2 billion, Jordan makes sure to lend a helping hand to those in need. That is why he recently decided to donate $10 million to the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Following this incredibly gracious donation, the company said it was the biggest donation it has ever received from a single person.

Over the years, Jordan has done a lot of work with this foundation. He began donating to the cause early in his career, and even became a Make-A-Wish ambassador in the late 2000s.

While discussing his massive donation on his birthday, Michael Jordan touched on how inspiring the children are.

“For the past 34 years, it’s been an honor to partner with Make-A-Wish and help bring a smile and happiness to so many kids,” Jordan said in a news release. “Witnessing their strength and resilience during such a tough time in their lives has truly been an inspiration.”

Jordan has granted hundreds of wishes over the course of his career and is still among the most requested wish granters.

What other charaties does Michael Jordan support?

The Make-A-Wish foundation is not the only organization that Jordan works with. In fact, there are countless charities that the NBA legend gives to. A few include St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

Back in 2020, ESPN released a 10-part documentary titled "The Last Dance." It covered Jordan's last run with the Chicago Bulls as they completed a second three-peat during the 1998 season.

The documentary was a big success, and Jordan decided to use those proceeds for good. Instead of keeping the money, he gave it all to a non-profit company called "Feeding America." The organization ended up using the $2 million donation to help feed close to 50 million Americans who were struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the old saying goes, with great power comes great responsibilty. Michael Jordan understands what kind of impact he can have with his platform and continues to use it for good. His never-ending charity work is proof that he will always do what he can to help those in need.
