In a thrilling contest, Hyderabad Sky edged out the Pune Peshwas 64-63 in the UBA match at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
The Hyderabad team looked the dominant one out of the two during the opening quarter, but the Peshwas made a comeback of their own in the next quarter to eventually finish the first half with a 4-point lead at 36-32.
The hosts though weren’t willing to give up so easily, and expectedly gave a tough fight to their opponents in the third quarter. Despite that, however, the Peshwas still finished the quarter with a 3-point lead at 44-47.
The final quarter though had plenty of drama up its sleeve as the nail-biting contest seemed to have shifted the Hyderabad way after Sujith scored a critical basket with just 3 seconds left on the clock. More drama unfolded after that as the coach of the Hyderabad team committed a costly error by entering the court, thereby gifting the Peshwas a much-need lifeline.
That opportunity though wasn't grabbed by the Peshwas as Ajinkya failed to score off the foul shot awarded, thereby handing the hosts a one point win.
Final Scoreline: Hyderabad Sky beat Pune Peshwas 64-63.
