IIT Delhi, 5th April : The College Basketball League, the mega event to be held by IIT Delhi from 9th-12th of April,2011, has just got bigger and better.
The League just doesn’t comprise college teams now, but also some of Delhi Circuit’s best Club teams that shall fight it out for the coveted title of the Best Basketball Team of the region. With this, the championship reaches an ultimate level of competition and skills, as the tournament is expecting some of Delhi’s top Basketball players irrespective of age.

The League plus Knockout format of the event is expected to be a rage among the fans and purists alike, as this vibrant format promises to showcase the credibility of the Best College Title, and ensures that only the best teams progress.

Moreover,events like the CBL 3-Point Shootout- which shall see the best shooters in business trying to beat the pack by converting the most 3 pointers of all- and the CBL Dunk Competition-the first ever slam-dunk challenge- promise to enthral all its viewers.
Another important change in the format is the layout of the All-Star Game, a show-of-skills match by the best players in the fray. The teams fighting out for the All-star title would now be comprising of the best college players on one hand, and the foremostcollege pass-outs on the other. This surely is going to be a battle of the champions.
Most notable presence would be of the famous Indian national player and Federation Cup Gold Medallist, Shiba Maggon, who would be seen in action in the Women’s All-Star Game of the College Basketball League. She has represented the country during 1997-2009,being among the top five Asian players in 2001 rankings, and also the only Indian women to represent the nation as a player, referee and a coach.
