Indian Air Force And Western Railways Reach Final of RIBA Basketball Tournament

The first semifinal of the first RIBA all India basketball tournament for man was played between the Indian air force and the Indian Army. It was a real clash of the titans of the Indian defense forces. It was the real visual treat for all the spectators as both the teams were giving their best in order to reach the finals. The half time score was 32-33 with Indian Army leading by 1 point. But in the end it was a race to a nail biting finish as the final score was 61-60 in favor of Indian Air force. The reebok best player award was given to Narender from air force who scored 22 points and showcased some extra ordinary skills on the court. He was assisted by S. Km Mishra who scored 15 points and Parveen who scored 13. A. Babu of Indian Army was awarded the outstanding performer of the match, who was assisted by Subbaiah and Irfaan who scored 13 points each.The second semifinal of the RIBA all India basketball tournament was played between Western Railways and Chennai Customs. It was a very exciting match as well, as both teams put in their best efforts. The half time score was 46-21 in favour of Western Railways. Though Western Railways had a comfortable lead at the half time, Chennai Customs never lost their fire and gave a tough fight. But the lead at the half time was too much to overcome and the final score was 56-79 in favour of Western Railways. Yadvinder Singh was awarded the Reebok best player of the match as he showcased the best show by putting in a lot of efforts. He was assisted by Vishesh who scored 23 points and Gagndeep who scored 20. For Chennai Customs. Partban who scored 14 points, was awarded the outstanding performer of the day and was assisted by Rainamur and CV Dinesh who scored 8 points each.
