Captain Prashanti Singh Scotts from the Indian women Basketball Team proudly accepted the Silver medal at the Asian Indoor games Vietnam2009.
The Indian women basketball team was introduced with the new format of three on three. Despite of brief introduction to the three on three formats at the Bangalore coaching clinic for 15 days they exhibited excellent skill and stamina through out the Asian Indoor games2009.
They witness a successful journey at the games where five teams from Asia participated. India started in the best way possible defeating Kuwait, Jordan and Vietnam by huge margins. They lost the gold battle in a very closely fought match by one point to Thailand.

Indian cagers after an outstanding performance against Thailand through out the deciding game were overshadowed towards the end. Their lead of 5 points took a turn when ball possession went to Thailand and they made no mistake to claim gold by 1 point.
However, Geethu Anna Jose using the potential of her height and Anitha Padurai with her ball handling skills assisted Captain Prashanti Singh in converting the innumerous three pointers that lead them to securing their Silver medal.
Captain Prashanti Singh was upset for not winning the gold but she mentioned that team played really well and she is satisfied with over all performance of the team.
“I still feel we could have won the Gold medal, it’s like we missed creating history. I am happy the way team played performed in the new format of game.” Singh, Captain of the Indian Team.
“The new format is really interesting, after winning the silver medal we are looking forward to win more championships in the future.” Jose.
