Indian Women’s Basketball team for Asian Games: a brief glance

The16th Asian Games Basketball championship is scheduled to be held at Guangzhou, China from 12th to 27th November, 2010. The following is a look at the players who will be representing the Women’s basketball team at the games.

I couldn’t find enough info on the first few players. This doesn’t reflect on their skills or importance to the team, obviously.

Indian Women’s basketball Coach Tamika Raymond has posted an article in which she remarks on the players who are representing the team. These comments have been quoted.

Head coach: Tamika Raymond, Coach: Sat Prakash Yadav, Asst coach: Prasanna Jayasankar.

The team selected has the following 15 players for tryouts, of which 12 are to be selected.

Kokila

Coach Raymond’s Comments: “She’s the most explosive/athletic kid on the team.”

Pushpa

She was the Women’s player of the tournament in the Ramu Memorial Basketball Tournament 2010.

Bharti Netam

Coach Raymond’s comments: “Bharti, Netaur and Pushpa are my steady players who just come to the gym to out work everyone.”
