Indiana Pacers vs Atlanta Hawks preview
After a solid last season, the onus is on the Pacers to keep improving. While they were aided by injuries to key opposition players during the first two rounds of the playoffs, it takes more than just good luck to win in the NBA. Indiana showed it could be a contender with Tyrese Haliburton as its leader.
The team also re-signed Pascal Siakam over the summer, whom it acquired during last season’s trade deadline. The Pacers also re-signed Obi Toppin and Andrew Nembhard. Thus, with most of the key players from last season returning, Indiana should be in for another good season.
Atlanta missed the playoffs last season but got lucky in the draft lottery to land the first pick despite only having the 10th best odds. The Hawks drafted Zaccharie Risacher to pair him alongside Trae Young. While Atlanta isn’t expected to be a contender, if Young can stay healthy, the team has the weapons to spring a surprise.
