The two-time All-Star is arguably in for a career-defining season after the Minnesota Timberwolves traded away Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks on Oct. 2. How did Anthony Edwards perform in preseason?
Anthony Edwards played in three of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ five preseason games. Edwards missed the first and the final game against the LA Lakers and Denver Nuggets, respectively. In the three games that he played, Minnesota went 1-2.
Edwards made his 2024 preseason debut against the Philadelphia 76ers on Oct. 11. He ended the night with 16 points, four rebounds and three assists, as the T-Wolves won 121-11.
His best performance in the exhibition games came against the New York Knicks on Oct. 13. Anthony Edwards led the team with 31 points in 27 minutes. However, that wasn't enough as Minnesota lost the game 115-110.
Edwards’ final outing was against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Even though his team lost 125-123, Minnesota fielded its probable regular-season Starting 5 for the first time. Julius Randle made his Timberwolves debut with 15 points, six rebounds and five assists. Edwards had 16 points.
