San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan could sit out his team's fixture against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. The former Baylor star has missed the Spurs' last two games with a bilateral low-back tightness and is listed as questionable for the Texan outfit's game at Crypto.com Arena.
Sochan last suited up for the team during its 122-111 loss against the Denver Nuggets on Jan. 4 at Frost Bank Center. The forward started the game but did not contribute much in his 26 minutes on the court. He ended his night with five points and eight rebounds.
The 21-year-old has already missed 15 games due to injuries this season. But on the upside, San Antonio does not have any other significant injuries.

Jeremy Sochan's redemption story continues despite injuries, his defensive work rate is praised by many
After being drafted by the San Antonio Spurs as the ninth pick in the first round of the 2022 NBA draft, Jeremy Sochan has finally hit the ground running this season. But the 6-foot-8 forward has endured a tough start to life in San Antonio.
Asked to be the starting point guard for his team last season, Sochan found himself in unfamiliar territory. However, acquiring Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes this past offseason has breathed new life into Sochan as his numbers have grown exponentially this season.
His defensive numbers are on an all-time high, with his 5.4 defensive rebounds ranking him third in the league among non-centers. The former Baylor star has also increased his productivity in the paint and averages 13.4 points per game with a field goal percentage of 53.0%.
His newest teammate Chris Paul opened up about his role and contribution to the team.
"I know a little bit about what works. It’s a lot, and that’s why I keep telling the guys, ‘It’s hard to be good; it’s hard to win. So, it’s going to be asked of a lot of us, but especially Jeremy, guarding the best player, usually, and scoring. It’s hard,'" Paul said after the Spurs' game against the Phoenix Suns on Dec. 3.
Portland Trail Blazers coach and former two-time NBA All-Defensive Second Team star Chauncey Billups also spoke on Jeremy Sochan's defensive game after his team's 118-116 loss to the Spurs on Dec. 13:
"He’s an agitator, and he’s really good at it," he said expressing his admiration for Sochan.
Despite missing a huge chunk of games this season due to a fractured thumb and currently with a sore back, Jeremy Sochan continues to impress.
