After breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's scoring record earlier this week, LeBron James was sidelined for the Lakers' loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. The news surfaced the day after James broke the scoring record as he was declared questionable for the game against Milwaukee.

After officially being downgraded, he was declared out. While the hope among fans and analysts was that James would be good to go for Saturday's game against the Warriors, that may not be the case. According to reporter Kyle Goon, James is questionable for the game.

Anthony Davis is probable for the game with a right foot injury, which has been plaguing him a while. In addition, LA's new center Mo Bamba is still serving a suspension for his brouhaha with Austin Rivers. On the flip side of things, the Golden State Warriors will be without Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala.

Luckily for LA fans, there was some good news recently in regards to the return of LeBron James. ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported on Friday that head coach Darvin Ham had stated that an MRI showed nothing abnormal about James; foot. According to him, the foot showed normal wear and tear after 20 years of NBA play.

LeBron James and the LA Lakers' quest for another title

This season has been a roller coaster ride for LA. To start the campaign, the team hoped that newly appointed head coach Darvin Ham would lead them to success. However, they struggled to start the season, dropping their first five games as the offense looked flat.

While transitioning Russell Westbrook to a sixth-man role and the return of Dennis Schroder and Thomas Bryant helped provide a spark, it wasn't enough. As the Lakers sat well out of contention for the play-in, the front office knew they had work to do.

They kicked things off by acquiring Rui Hachimura from Washington, giving them some major help on the defensive end of the floor. They then acquired D'Angelo Russell from the Minnesota Timberwolves in a three-team trade that set them up with much-needed perimeter shooting.

With that, they were finally able to get Russell Westbrook's contract off the books, while making major strides with the roster. LA will look to put a rough first half of the season behind them and embark on a big playoff run.

Standing in their way is a lengthy injury history for LeBron James and Anthony Davis. While both men have played MVP-caliber basketball when healthy, the story of the season has been the ongoing injuries to Davis. Although he started the season strong despite visible discomfort, he's been sidelined for 25 of the team's 56 games this year.
