The Dallas Mavericks face the LA Clippers on Monday in an NBA preseason game but will once again be without their superstar Luka Doncic. It marks the third consecutive game Doncic will miss as he continues to recover from a left calf contusion sustained during team training in Las Vegas.
According to Sportskeeda's Grant Afseth, Doncic has been spending considerable time playing 1-on-1 with assistant coach God Shammgod.
Mavericks coach Jason Kidd mentioned that while Doncic has been participating in non-contact practices, the team expects to have a clearer understanding of his progress ahead of their final preseason game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday.

Given Doncic's importance to the Mavericks, it's likely that the franchise will prioritize giving him ample rest and recovery time before the start of the regular season.
Luka Doncic eager to win NBA championship
Luka Doncic nearly captured his first NBA championship last season, but he and the Dallas Mavericks fell just short, losing the NBA Finals in five games to the Boston Celtics. A
s Doncic enters his seventh NBA season, the five-time All-Star has one clear goal in mind: winning it all.
"Championship, that's the goal," Doncic said on the Mavericks media day.
Doncic understands the pressure that comes with last season's NBA Finals appearance but is ready to embrace it. The superstar point guard is eager to use the disappointment of falling short as motivation for the upcoming season.
"I love pressure; it means we've done something good. I've felt it since I was at Real Madrid, I'm used to it. For the whole team, this should be a motivation, it's a good sign," the Slovenian superstar continued.
"The experience of being in the Finals is different. Being there feels different. Last year, I wasn't good enough. It's a big motivation to win it all," he added.
