J.B. Bikerstaff has been a part of the NBA as an assistant coach and a head coach for a while now and has established himself as extremely reliable. Bickerstaff began his collegiate career at Oregon State, where he spent his first two seasons, before graduating with the University of Minnesota. For the Golden Gophers, he averaged 10.9 points and 6.1 rebounds as a senior.

Bickerstaff started his coaching journey with the Charlotte Bobcats in 2004 and spent three seasons before joining the Minnesota Timberwolves. Bickerstaff spent four seasons with Minnesota between 2007-2011. He later went to Houston, where he spent the next six seasons. It is estimated that Bickerstaff earned between $1-3 Million annually during his first stint with the Cavaliers. Sources say his new deal is valued higher and falls between the $3-5 Million annual range. Over the years, Bickerstaff has taken up many positions in the world of coaching. On November 18, 2015, he was appointed as a Head Coach by the Houston Rockets, where he led the team to a 41-41 season, finishing 8th in the Western Conference. On 1 May, 2018, Bickerstaff was Appointed as Head Coach for the Memphis Grizzlies, after starting in November 2016 as an Associate Head Coach, leading to and later Hired as Head Coach by the Memphis Grizzlies, where they only finished 14th and 12th in the Western Conference. After two consecutive missed playoffs, he was Fired as Head Coach by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2019. He was later appointed Head Coach by the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he has successfully nurtured a team that fights. From his debut 2019-20 season, where they were 15th in the Eastern Conference, to the 2022-23 season, where they’ve fought their way to rank 4th.
