Jae Crowder is an American professional basketball power forward/small forward for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born July 6, 1990, in Villa Rica, Georgia, U.S., to parents Helen Thompson and Corey Crowder, he attended Villa Rica High School, where he was a two-sport star, playing football as well as basketball.
Crowder went on to play college basketball for South Georgia Technical College and later Howard College, where he led the team to an NJCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship in his sophomore season. He was also named the State Farm Junior College Player of the Year during his time in Howard.
Crowder was drafted 34th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2nd round of the 2012 NBA Draft and was traded shortly afterwards on draft night to the Dallas Mavericks. He made his NBA debut on October 30, 2012, against the Los Angeles Lakers. Two seasons in, he was traded to the Boston Celtics. He was subsequently traded back to his draft team after three seasons in Boston. In 2018, he was again traded to the Utah Jazz. One season later, he was dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2019. He reached back-to-back NBA finals in 2020 and 2021 with the Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns. He was then traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023 with whom he signed a contract on July 8, 2023.
