Now in his third NBA season, Jalen Green has established himself as one of the best players on a talented Houston Rockets roster. In the 2022/23 season, Green started 76 games and averaged 22.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game on 41.6% shooting from the field.

At 6 feet 4 inches, Green is known for his off-the-dribble scoring and can also attack the paint with aggression. His 6-foot-8 inch wingspan allows him to shoot over most defenders with ease, defend the perimeter and grab crucial boards. Before being drafted second overall in 2021, Green played one season for the NBA G League Ignite.

Green developed an interest in basketball at a relatively young age. After moving to Fresno, Green’s family supported his choice of pursuing basketball and helped him commit to playing in the Amateur Athletic Union, where he got to compete against the best young athletes in the country.

Green played three seasons at San Joaquin Memorial High School. He was a starter as a freshman who averaged 18.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. In his sophomore season, Green surpassed his freshman stats and emerged as the top shooting guard for his school, averaging 27.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. He helped his school to win the Central Section Division II Championship. His second-year performance earned him MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year honors and he was also named on the All-USA California second team.

For his senior season, Green transferred to Prolific Prep in Napa, California, where he helped his team win the Grind Session World Championship.

Jalen Green has represented the United States in the FIBA U16, U17 and the U19 World Cup and played a substantial role in USA’s victory in all three tournaments, even taking home the Under-17 World Cup MVP award in 2018.

Jalen Green Professional Career

After graduating from Prolific Prep School as a five-star recruit in 2020, Green received offers from top Division I programs, including UC Berkeley, Oregon, Kansas, Memphis, and Kentucky, among others. However, he chose to turn Pro and signed a one-year $500,000 contract with the NBA G League Ignite.

Currently representing the Houston Rockets, Green is averaging 19.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game in his NBA career as of January 2024.
