Jalen Green has transformed into a vital player for the Houston Rockets since being drafted. Regarded as one of the best young players in the NBA, Green was born on February 9, 2002 in Merced, California, US. He was raised in Livingston, California before finally moving to Fresno, California with his family. He started playing basketball at a very young age with the Amateur Athletic Union.

Jalen Green played high school basketball for San Joaquin Memorial High School. He helped his high school team to reach the final of CIF Central Section Division II and quarterfinals of CIF Division II as a freshman and won the CIF Central Section Rookie of the Year. He also led his team to the CIF Central Section Division II title as a sophomore and won MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year.

Green later transferred to Prolific Prep and helped them win the Grind Session World Championship. He won Grind Session most valuable player and Sports Illustrated All-American player of the year for his performances.

In the 2022/23 season for the Rockets, Green played 76 games and averaged 22.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. He shot 41.6% from the field, including 33.8% from deep.
