For college, Hood-Schifino played for the Indiana Hoosiers, where he was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He scored the most points (35) in a game as a freshman in Indiana’s history, in a 79-71 win against Purdue. He was also named on the second team and Freshman team. After just one college season, he declared for the draft.

Hood-Schifino featured in 21 games for the Lakers in the 2023/24 season. He was part of Lakers’ In-season tournament team, guaranteeing him $500,000 as the Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers in the final.
