Before joining the Magic, Suggs joined Gonzaga University for his college basketball career. Suggs' NBA career started in October 2021. In his rookie season, he averaged 11.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. By the 2023-24 season, Suggs was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. This made him the third player in Orlando Magic history to receive this honor, following in the footsteps of NBA legend Dwight Howard.
