
Hasen Jamal Cain is a 1999-born American professional basketball player who plays as a small forward for the New Orleans Pelicans in the NBA. Cain is on a two-way contract with the Birmingham Squadron of the NBA G League who are the NBA G League affiliate of the Pelicans. Born in Pontiac, Michigan Cain attended the Cornerstone Health & Technology High School. After high school, Cain committed to playing college basketball for Marquette. Cain attended Marquette University for his first four years after which he transferred to Oakland University where he played for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. As a Freshman in 2017-18, he played in 34 games and averaged 4.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. In his Sophomore year 2018-19, Cain played in 29 games and started three of those games while averaging 1.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 8.6 minutes per game.
In his final collegiate year at Oakland, Cain started in all 30 games and led the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in average points 19.9 and average rebounds 10.2 per game. Owing to his great performances at Oakland he was named as 2021-22 Horizon League Co-Player of the Year. After going undrafted in the 2022 NBA draft Cain signed a contract with the Miami Heat initially to play in the NBA G league. Later in October 2022, Cain's contract was converted into a two-way contract allowing him to play with both the Heat and their NBA G League affiliate, Sioux Falls Skyforce. In July 2024 Jamal Cain signed a two-way contract with the New Orleans Pelicans
