Jamal Murray is a Canadian point guard for the Denver Nuggets, as of January 2025. Murray started playing basketball at a very young age and was a top player in high school and college as well. Murray attended the Grand River Collegiate Institute in Kitchener. However, he transferred to Orangeville District Secondary School in Orangeville, Ontario. During his time at Orangeville Prep, he was coached by his father as he was an assistant coach at the school. In 2015, Murray was named MVP in both the Nike Hoops Summit and the BioSteel All-Canadian Basketball Game. He attended the University of Kentucky for college, and according to Sports Reference, Murray averaged 20 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in his lone season at Kentucky.

Jamal Murray was drafted by the Denver Nuggets in 2016 and was named to the All-Rookie Second Team in 2017.
