Jarrett Allen is a professional basketball player who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA as of March 2025. Born on April 21, 1998, in Austin, Texas, Allen’s journey from childhood to the NBA court is remarkable. He started his basketball journey with the Texas Longhorns. Allen was selected as the 22nd overall in the first round by the Brooklyn Nets in the 2017 NBA Draft. Making his debut with the Brooklyn Nets on October 20 at 19, he is the second youngest player to have played for the Nets. Allen played for the Nets for three seasons and then in 2021 was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In the 2021-22 season, Allen showed exceptional play on the court, and he earned a well-deserved spot in his first NBA All-Star Game. During the same season, he showcased an impressive average of 16.1 points, 10.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. Also, Allen, with his outstanding performance in the 2022-23 season, led his team to the playoffs alongside Donovan Mitchell. Unfortunately, the Cavaliers lost to the New York Knicks in the first round. In the 2023-24 season, the Cavs again reached the playoffs, where Allen averaged 16.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. However, the team again lost in the semifinals to the Boston Celtics.
