After a fairly successful high school career, Williams transitioned into college basketball, and played for the University of Arkansas. In his sophomore season, he set multiple records and was recognized with All-Southeastern Conference Honors. In the 2022 NBA Draft, the Thunder selected Williams with the 34th overall pick. He is primarily playing back up to Chet Holmgren, and averaged 4.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 69 games in the 2023/24 season.
