Five-time NBA All-Star Jayson Christopher Tatum is an American power forward who plays for the Boston Celtics. At 6 foot 8 inches tall, Tatum was born on 3rd March 1998 in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S. Tatum started his basketball journey at Chaminade College Preparatory School in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Because of his school success, Tatum was selected for the 2016 McDonald's All-American Game and won the 2016 Gatorade National Player of the Year. After high school, he went to Duke University for college basketball. In his college career in 2017, Tatum was named to the Third-Team All-ACC and the ACC All-Freshman Team for averaging 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

In the 2017 NBA draft, Tatum was selected 3rd overall pick by the Boston Celtics. In the rookie season, Tatum was selected All-Rookie first team. Following that, Tatum was named the NBA Eastern Conference Finals MVP in 2022 but lost in the NBA final against the Golden State Warriors. Two seasons later, Tatum secured his first championship in the 2024 NBA Finals in a Celtics jersey. In the 2023-24 season, Tatum averaged 26.9 points, 4.9 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game for Boston Celtics.

Tatum started his Olympic career as a member of the 2020 U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball team which played in Tokyo. He played in six games where he posted a 5-1 record to claim USA’s fourth consecutive Olympic gold medal in Men’s basketball in Tokyo, During that tournament, he averaged 15.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game, shooting 49.3% from the field, 44.7% from beyond the arc, and 72.7% from the free-throw line. He also played three pre-Olympic exhibition games for the USA men’s basketball team.

For the Paris Olympics 2024, Jayson Tatum is one of the five players who have represented Team USA in two consecutive Olympics. In the tournament, he averaged 6.4 PPG, 3.4 RPG, and 1.0 SPG through five games where he played two as a starter for the USA Men’s Basketball team.
