Jerami joined DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. He began basketball at this school and averaged 12.5 points in his senior year.

After this season, Jerami went to Syracuse University in 2012. He joined the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team to play college basketball. Jerami received the 2014 All-ACC Honorable Mention for his overall performance throughout college. Following this season, he chose to play basketball at a professional level. For this, Jerami declared for the 2014 NBA draft in April.

Professional Career

Jerami was a 39th overall selection of the Philadelphia 76ers. The team selected him on June 26, 2014, in the draft's second round. Later, on September 29, 2014, he officially signed with the team and agreed on a four-year deal. Thereafter, he went on to play several matches throughout the year. He represented the team in the 2015 NBA Summer League after re–joining the same group in July.

On November 1, 2016, Jerami was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He played his first game for this team against the Los Angeles Clippers. In this match, he scored 6 points and two rebounds. After that, he competed against many teams and continued to play for this team after re-signing in July 2018.

Jerami Grant joined the Denver Nuggets in a trade on July 8, 2019. He led this team to play matches against several teams and played in the Western Conference Finals. His average points and rebounds in the playoffs were 11.6 and 3.3 respectively.

The Next Year, in November, Jerami signed to play with the Detroit Pistons. This team offered him a three-year contract with a guaranteed revenue of $60 million. During his gameplay with this team, he suffered from multiple injuries that ultimately limited his gameplay. The first injury he faced was a right thumb injury on December 10, 2021. Another one was a calf strain on March 28, 2022. Jerami missed the entire remaining season with this strain.

In July 2022, Jerami moved to the Portland Trail Blazers. He played several matches for this team. Jerami has played for five teams throughout his professional career.
