Major Injuries Jerami Grant Sustained in the NBA

Sore Right Ankle (June - November 2014)

Jerami Grant’s rookie season was delayed due to a sore right ankle, which he injured during pre-season training camp with the Philadelphia 76ers. As per Basketball Reference game log data, Jerami Grant’s pre-seon injuries before his rookie campaign kept him sidelined for the first 15 games of his career.

Right Knee Problems (April 2021)

In the 2020-21 season with the Detroit Pistons, Jerami Grant missed significant time due to a right knee injury. The right knee problems started on April 7th, 2021, and the Detroit Pistons chose to shut him down for the remainder of the season to prioritize his long-term health. Grant played only 54 games that season, the lowest in his career at that point, missing 15 of the final 21 games of the season, according to Basketball Reference game log information.

UCL Ligament Sprain in Right Thumb (December 2021 - January 2022)

Jerami Grant sustained a UCL ligament sprain in his right thumb during a December 16, 2021 game against the New Orleans Pelicans while diving for a loose ball. As per Detroit Free Press, the injury was severe enough to require surgery. As per the NBA's official website, the Pistons announced surgery to repair torn ligaments in his right thumb would keep him out for at least six weeks. Eventually, Jeremy Grant missed 24 games, returning to the lineup on February 1st, 2022, coincidentally against the Pelicans, the same team he was injured against.

Left Calf Strain (March - June 2022)

Toward the end of the 2021-22 season, Jerami Grant suffered a left calf strain in a game against the Washington Wizards. This injury occurred in the first quarter and prematurely ended his season, keeping him out of the final eight games. As ESPN reported, the Pistons were already out of playoff contention, so they opted not to rush him back.

Left Quad Contusion (March - June 2023)

While playing for the Portland Trail Blazers, Jerami Grant sustained a left quad contusion on March 12, 2023, in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Initially, the injury appeared minor, but it worsened and became a season-ending injury. According to Basketball Reference game log data, Jeremy Grant missed the final 14 games of the 2022-23 season due to this setback.

Right Hamstring Injury (March - June 2024)
