25-year-old rapper, singer and songwriter Jordan Hollywood is poised for a breakthrough. He hails from Broward County, Florida – the same place that spawned Kodak Black, Smokepurpp, Lil Pump, and the late XXXTENTACION -- and his writing credits include Jason Derulo and French Montana.

Hollywood has also collaborated with Yo Gotti, Lil Baby, Ronny J, Tory Lanez, Lil Durk, and Hitmaka, in addition to platinum record making producers SkippOnDaBeat (G-Eazy, Kodak Black, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie) and Smash David (Big Sean, Khalid, Chris Brown).

The latest music video for Jordan Hollywood is for the song "EXPLOSION." For the “EXPLOSION” video, Hollywood collaborated with longtime video director, Christian Breslauer (Ace Hood, YBN Nahmir, Russ). Set in 1969 during the Vietnam War, A battle-ready Jordan finds himself fighting for survival in the jungles of the Ho-Chi Minh Trail. Alone and outnumbered, Jordan only has his intuition and weapon to navigate the dangerous route.

I had the pleasure of doing Q&A with Jordan Hollywood about his long-time love of the NBA's Miami Heat and the NFL's Miami Dolphins. More on Jordan Hollywood can be found online by following him on Instagram and Twitter via @JordanHollywood.

I understand that you're a Dwyane Wade fan. When did that first happen?

Jordan Hollywood: When he got drafted! He became my favorite player ever after his 2006 Playoff and finals performance. He averaged like 35 points in the finals, the second closest player in scoring on the Heat was probably Shaq[uille O'Neal] or Antoine Walker, which was like 12 points a game. He carried them on his back and his style with the circus shots just made me a HUGE Dwayne Wade fan. I used to wear his converse shoes to play ball in when I was in middle school.

Has the Miami Heat always been your team of choice?

Jordan Hollywood: For sure. I’m from South Florida, so it’s only right.

What about the NFL? Are you a Dolphins fan?

Jordan Hollywood: You got that right.

How do you think this season is going for the Dolphins?

Jordan Hollywood: It was a decent season for us. We showed a lot of potential; definitely have a lot of room for growth!

Do you have a favorite player on the current Dolphins roster?

Jordan Hollywood: Jarvis Laundry was the last couple years, then he got traded. So now I’m rocking with the legend Frank Gore and it’s only right considering he’s a UM alumni!

Are there any teams that you feel as strongly about as you do the Heat or the Dolphins?

Jordan Hollywood: The U! Miami Hurricanes! Always loved them since 2001.

Is it true that the "Jordan Hollywood" name came from you playing football as a kid?

Jordan Hollywood: Yeah that’s true. My coach used to call me "Hollywood" and all my friends that were on my team started calling me it and it just stuck.

Sports aside, what's coming up for you career-wise? Big 2019 ahead?

Jordan Hollywood: I’m going to drop a couple projects this year, go on tour, and continue to grow my record label, The Wasted Youth.

When did you film the "EXPLOSION" video?

Jordan Hollywood: I filmed it late 2017 or early 2018. I have so many videos and songs in my hard drive, I could stop working right now and have enough stuff to release consistently for 1 to 2 years. (laughs) I’m a workaholic.

Is there a career accomplishment you are proudest of?

Jordan Hollywood: Signing to QC! Getting my first platinum plaques -- one as a songwriter, one as a manager!

When not busy with sports or music, where does your free time go?

Jordan Hollywood: FREE TIME? What is that? (laughs)

Finally, Jordan, any last words for the kids?

Jordan Hollywood: Never give up on your dreams. Struggles are temporary. Use every day as a chance to better yourself!
