Joshua "Josh" Giddey, a guard for the Chicago Bulls, is from Melbourne, Victoria, in Australia. He was drafted as the sixth overall pick by the Oklahoma City Thunder in first round of the 2021 Draft. He recorded a triple-double at the age of 19, making him the youngest player in NBA history to do so. He also became the first rookie to record three straight triple-doubles since Oscar Robertson in 1961. In 2022, he was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. In three seasons with the City Thunder, he played in 210 games, starting all and averaging 13.9 points, 5.7 assists, and 7.3 rebounds. In June 2024, he was traded to the Bulls for Alex Caruso.

Giddey's professional career began in March 2020 with the National Basketball League's (NBL) Adelaide 36ers. He played only one season with the Australian league, winning the 2021 NBL Rookie of the Year, averaging 10.9 points, 7.6 assists and 7.3 rebounds in 28 games. He played for Australia in New Caledonia for the 2019 FIBA Under-17 Oceania Championship. He helped his team win a gold medal and was selected to the All-Star Five. He made his debut for the Australian national basketball team during the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifying in February of the next season. He played for Australia in the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Since Ben Simmons in 2013, he was the youngest player to play for the senior team.

Before playing collegiate basketball, Hannah Giddey was a standout player in Victoria, Australia, where she topped her league in rebounding (12.5 per game) and blocks (72 overall). Giddey decided to major in education at Oral Roberts University (ORU). After two years as a forward for the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, she played for Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma, in 2022-2023.
