Where did Josh Richardson go to college?

Joshua "Josh" Michael Richardson is an American professional basketball player who has built a reputation as a dependable role player off the bench in the NBA. He first made a name for himself as a standout high school player at Santa Fe High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. At Santa Fe, Richardson put up impressive numbers, averaging 16.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game as a point guard during his senior season.

His strong play earned him multiple accolades, including selections to the Oklahoma Coaches Association "Large West" All-State Team and The Oklahoman's Super 5 first team. Richardson was a leader on his high school squad and established himself as one of the top prep players in the state of Oklahoma.

Specifically, Richardson concluded his collegiate tenure third in school history in games played at 136, ninth in minutes played at 3,802, ninth in starts, 10th in steals with 147, 16th in blocks at 88 and 28th on Tennessee's all-time scoring list with 1,252 total points. Throughout his 136 games as a Volunteer, Richardson averaged 9.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest.

While not necessarily eye-popping numbers, Richardson's consistency and durability during his four years at Tennessee were invaluable for the team. He started over 100 games as a Vol and played key roles on both offense and defense, cementing his legacy as one of the top players of his era.

After a solid four-year college career at Tennessee, Josh Richardson declared for the 2015 NBA Draft. The Miami Heat selected Richardson 40th overall in the second round.

Richardson immediately carved out a role for himself in Miami. He played four seasons in Miami, establishing himself as a key 3 player for the organization. In 2019, Richardson was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a sign-and-trade deal.

Over the next few years, Richardson bounced around the league with stops on the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans as he searched to rediscover the success he had found early on with the Heat.
