Jrue Holiday is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics. He stands at 6 feet 4 inches and weighs about 193 cm. He plays at the Point Guard/ Shooting Guard position and is widely regarded for his perimeter defense in the NBA. He attended and played for Campbell Hall school in Los Angeles, California, where he averaged 25.9 points, 11.2 rebounds and 6.9 assists along with 4.8 steals per game as a senior and was the No. 2 overall prospect of the Class of 2008, as per Rivals.com. He was subsequently selected as a McDonald’s All-American in 2008 and decided to join UCLA for college basketball.

Holiday played only 1 season at UCLA and averaged 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists along with 1.6 steals per game, shooting a very efficient 45.0% from the field. This earned him the Pac-10 All-Freshman team honors. He then declared for the 2009 NBA Draft and was selected with the 17th overall pick in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged 12.5 points, 4.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game in the 2024 season as part of the championship-winning Boston Celtics team.

He was also one of the key contributors for the Bucks as he made countless winning plays, like making a critical steal from the Suns’ Devin Booker, before passing it to Antetokounmpo in Game 5 of the 2021 NBA Finals. This play was crucial in getting them the Game 5 win over the Suns. He did this while scoring 27 points, 4 rebounds and 13 assists. He was again crucial in Game 6, scoring nearly a triple-double with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists and helped close out the series with a 4-2 win for Milwaukee.

Holiday won his second NBA Championship in 2024 with the Boston Celtics, alongside NBA Stars, Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown along with a solid cast of supporting players. In Game 2 of the NBA Finals, Holiday recorded 26 points and 11 rebounds to ensure a victory for his team. The Celtics closed out the series in 5 games and earned Holiday his second ring.
