Born on November 15, 1995, in Edison, New Jersey, Karl-Anthony Towns is a professional basketball player who plays for the New York Knicks in the NBA as of February 2025. From a young age, Towns started playing basketball. Karl Towns Sr., (father) and Jacqueline Cruz (mother) played a crucial role in shaping his career. His mother was his biggest cheerleader, nurturing his dreams and ambitions. It was his father, a former basketball player, who introduced him to the game.

Karl-Anthony Towns started playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves when he was selected as the first overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. In his rookie season, Towns earned Rookie of the Year honors while averaging 18.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game, as per Basketball Reference. In 2016, Karl-Anthony Towns became the third youngest player in the NBA to score at least 45 points and grab 15 rebounds in a single game. In 2017, he led the Timberwolves to the Western Conference playoffs after 13 years of drought. Unfortunately, the team lost in the first round to the Houston Rockets. In the 2023-24 season, the duo of Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves to their first Western Conference Finals after two decades. However, they lost to the Dallas Mavericks in the finals. In the off-season of 2024, Karl-Anthony Towns was traded to the New York Knicks.
